How To Choose Webber Grill
Barbecue grills are a part of American life as the celebrations of July 4 and apple pie, however there was a time when it wasn't the case. Webber grills weren’t always the best of the best of the barbecue world.
Weber Stephens Products was started in the late 1800’s in Palatine Illinois. The company was a sheet metal industry that did a lot of custom work in the Chicago area. In the 1950’s the company’s co-owner George Stephen became frustrated with the uneven cooking and uncontrollable flame of the open brazier grills. He determined to build a better grill for his own backyard.
The company he worked for and owned had been creating half spheres that were welded together to form buoys that were used in Lake Michigan. Using this concept, he cut one of the buoys in half and then fabricated a dome shaped lid with handle for a cover. This would be the very first of the kettle Webber Grills.
The reputation of the Webber grill parts took off faster than Stephens had anticipated and the units were selling quicker than he could build them. In 1952, he created the Webber Grills division of the company to supply the ever-increasing demand.
Some years later Stephens bought the company from the Webber brothers and become the single owner at that time, he modified the name to Webber Stephen Product Co.
For the next couple of decades the Webber grill reputation and sales continued to grow. By the 70’s Webber Grills had spread from a simple Midwest product to a national one. Retail stores from around the country began selling these grills. Before long, the name Webber was a generic term for barbeque grill.
Today Webber grill still holds a special place in the hearts of grillers everywhere. Though the kettle was, the first model grill time and technology have allowed the company to expand a bit. You can now purchase these grills in all sorts of shapes, sizes and fuel types.
In the last few years, an interesting side business has begun to grow from Webber Grills that are the Webber Grill Restaurant. Wheeling Illinois built the first of these restaurants with three more popping up in cities around the state. By 2007, the franchise had left the state of Illinois with a grill being opened in Indianapolis.
The Webber Grills are a family business committed to quality products that is proved by the satisfaction of consumer as well as the long life of the company.
i was using silicone sealant to seal the gaps around the kitchen work top!?
i used masking tape, with to strips so i could run the silicone line in between them tape to get a nice straight edge but i forgot to take the masking tape off when the silicone had dryed a little and now when i remove the tape the silicone has stretched up and down the worktop and the tiles. is there a way of getting rid of the excessive that is hanging without having to start again?
Best thing to do now is to remove the seal and start again. To make a proper job, get yourself a fine mist sprayer and fill with water with a little washing-up liquid added. Cut the nozzle of the silicon seal tube to the width required and run a continuous bead of seal into the gap. Spray the silicon seal with the water/washing-up liquid and, with a wet finger, smooth along the length of seal. You'll find that the silicon will not stick to the wet areas and you'll end with a beautifully smooth, professional, even finish.
Practise makes perfect...good luck.
NBA, players have tentative deal to end lockout (St. Petersburg Times)
**Times wires**
Saturday, November 26, 2011
NEW YORK -- Now that there's a handshake deal on a labor agreement,
commissioner David Stern and union executives must persuade owners and players
to approve it in time to start the season Christmas Day.
After a 149-day lockout, owners and players reached the tentative deal around
3 a.m. Saturday. It comes at a loss of hundreds of millions of dollars for
both sides, on top of the fans and jobs that were lost during the stalemate.
And it leaves the NBA with its second shortened season because of labor
problems. The league hopes to play a 66-game schedule instead of 82.
A slew of issues still must be worked through, though -- players must drop a
lawsuit against the league and reform their disbanded union -- and the owners
and players must vote on the deal. But the deal is expected to be approved,
After a 15-hour negotiating session Friday into Saturday, Stern accepted
congratulations, headed for another short night of sleep, then planned to
brief his owners on a plan that could change the way they do business.
"We're very pleased we've come this far," Stern said. "There's ...
