The Best Knife Sets For Home - Chicago Cutlery Knife Sets

Recently my husband and I decided that we needed to cook more at home. We were eating out and getting take out way too much. We ate way too many TV dinners and it was time to get healthy. So we decided to buy a decent knife set and a few cookbooks.

After looking at all the knife sets that are out there we decided on The Chicago Cutlery Insignia 2 26 Piece Knife Block Set. This fantastic knife set comes with a 6.75 inch Santoku, a 5.5 inch Utility kitchen Knife, a 5 inch boning knife, a 3.5 inch pairing knife, a 3 inch pairing knife, a 4.75 inch Partoku, an 8 inch slicing knife, an 8 inch Chef knife and 8 x 4 inch Steak knives.

When we looked at buying a knife set we had no idea what a Santoku or Partoku was but after doing a little bit of research we discovered that is an Asian style knife similar to a small cleaver - good for cutting up vegetables which was good as my husband and I definitely needed to eat more vegetables.

The set also came with a cheese set including a board and a few cheese knives. The steak knives are a great bonus and are really good when the relatives come over for dinner. Having a new knife set and a few cookbooks has really inspired us to get healthy - we have even started doing regular exercise.

Cooking is actually cheaper and you know what, we actually feel a whole lot better about ourselves as well. We save a lot more money and I think in the long run buying The Chicago Cutlery Insignia2 26 piece Knife-Block Set will actually pay for itself.

I am really very happy with our lifestyle decision now and am really happy that we are cooking at home. All you need to do is take a bit of pride in what you eat and making it is half of the fun.

If you need to get some new knives I recommend The Chicago Knife Block Set - but before you go and buy a set make sure you have a look at a review of one here The Chicago Cutlery Insignia2 26 piece Knife-Block Set.
