Questions Being Questioned About Atlas Energy Acquisition By Chevron
Atlas Energy is a natural gas producer and developer in middle The United States and the Appalatian region. A publicly-held company, Atlas Energy has received a buyout deal from Chevron valued at $ 4.3 billion. Two law firms have launched investigations to the offer. Both of these firms are shareholder-representative firms.
Chevron's deal for Atlas Energy
Atlas Energy has been trading at around $30 to $35 a share for the last few months. Atlas Energy is an energy development company. Over 9,000 natural gas wells are controlled by it. Chevron is a multinational corporation that provides fuel, additives, oils and other merchandise through Chevron, Texaco and CalTex brands. Chevron announced today that they have reached an agreement to pay about $43 a share to acquire Atlas Energy.
Purchasing Atlas Energy brought on examination
Chevron and Atlas Energy are both public corporations. This means that standards in acquisition agreements are expected to be held up. The Chevron/Atlas Energy offer has brought on an examination to be launched by two major law firms that investigate shareholder acquisition agreements. The businesses say that the “true value” of Atlas Energy isn’t being given to shareholder. They say Atlas Energy didn’t “properly shop around” for it. Between $47 and $65 a share is what analysts say Atlas Energy ought to have gone with. That’s a huge difference. A no fax pay day loan cannot even compare. Chevron shares went down 88 cents since the buyout offer when Atlas Energy shares went up over $43 a share.
Figuring out what a merging value is
The value of buyouts and mergers can often be difficult to accurately determine. Publicly kept companies have a special owner. Stockholders each own a piece of ownership. Atlas Energy has been trading for $30 a share. It is worth more than that to numerous different stockholders though. Numerous factors play to the “true” worth of a business which is why it's hard to discover. Shareholders might require more than the $4.3 million that Chevron offered to be paid if it seems Atlas Energy accepted an offer too low.

switching nat. gas to propane with no conversion kit?
I want to convert a stove from nat. gas to propane. My stove is old though, the company that made it (Locke Stove) doesn't exist anymore, so I can't purchase a conversion kit from them. My question is can I connect the stove to a propane tank and use the tank's valve to decrease propane flow to minimum - to equal nat. gas flame - with no conversion kit. I've seen people singe chickens by using just a propane tank and a rubber hose.
If the company that manufactured the unit does not exist anymore, you only have one option. You can have someone qualified make the necessary alterations to the appliance and then take it to a certification body like underwriter's laboratories. They will test the unit and give it a "certified rating plate" if all code and regulation requirements are met and the unit meets their test criteria.
I suggest you contact them and get a list of companies that could perform these alterations for you.
As I'm sure you are already thinking, THIS WILL BE VERY EXPENSIVE!!!
So in reality, it's not worth playing around with. If you "Mcgyver" the stove and convert it yourself, you better pray long and hard that no one gets hurt by that thing or it causes a fire! Insurance companies will deny any claims because you have "altered" the appliance from it's original certified condition. Find a suitable replacement and buy a new one.
PRANDONI: Conservatives should oppose NAT GAS Act (Washington Times)
Flooded with grant money, compelled by mandates and burdened by regulations,
America's energy sector is a convoluted mess. Government intervention has
turned this market upside down. Now, Republicans and Democrats are eyeing the
NAT GAS Act - legislation that would further muddy the water.
