Kitchens 101
Try to think about kitchens and often you will realize that the interior design of a kitchen is one of the first things you will think about. They will most likely picture the appropriate colors as well as the fixtures it must have. They would also consider the decorations which should be put to improve its appearance. These are of course essential elements to consider, but are definitely of lesser importance when compared to the kitchen appliances. Frequently, the appliances in your kitchen are one of the major considerations when it comes to this part of your house.
There are three fundamental types of appliances that innovative and efficient kitchens should have. This means having a cool place for food items storage. Next are those for cooking and, lastly are those for blending and preparing beverages. It is clear that each of the types stated have specific and clear functions. Therefore, you can't simply replace one for the other but instead, need to ensure that you have every one of these available and usable in your kitchen. When you have each one of these, kitchen work will definitely become faster and a lot easier.
Freezers and refrigerators are perhaps one of the most essential factors in a kitchen. The size of these things may vary according to what is most suitable for your household. If there are lots of people in the home, then it may be necessary to have bigger cold storage units. Restricting how much you can keep at one time simply means you will need to visit the grocery more often. The fridge should be found in the kitchen area but the freezer might be put into other parts of the house, like the basement. You may also need more than one of each, in case you have a particularly big family.
It is a fundamental rule that cooking appliances such as cook tops must be found in kitchens. You have the choice of having an integrated stove and oven appliance if you don't have a lot of space to work with. But if it is quite big, it is possible to utilize the space and get separate cook tops instead. The oven can be placed just by the work bench beside your kitchen while the cook top is at the middle table.
Coffee machines and blenders are items which are often more of a luxury than a basic need. However, you need to understand how easy preparing breakfasts and lunches would be with such equipment. You may actually have these placed on your kitchen's work top, ideally beside the refrigerator. Of course, the best place for it would be far from open flames and with an electrical outlet nearby.
Although a kitchen is not intricately adorned, it can still look great when the colours are well harmonized. Kitchens with modern designs usually apply a two toned complementary colour-scheme. Therefore, if you wish to have a simple but appealing place to cook your foods, you may have to make sure that the designs and colours of your appliances also harmonize with the interior's design. Thankfully, this is not impossible to realize as in these days such equipment and appliances are produced in many different colors and shapes for just such a purpose.

Special needs, specialized design (jsonline)
Deborah and David Legg could see the day when they and their daughter,
Michele, would be in a better place.
After 27 years in their Sussex ranch home, they were eager to move into a much
larger house wholly designed around Michele’s special needs. They had
carefully planned it, using copious notes and experiences garnered from their
daughter’s 28 years of life.
The home’s wide hallways and large rooms would accommodate her
wheelchair. Exterior doors were flush with the grade. The garage was sized for
a van with a wheelchair lift.
“We made the house larger so that Michele’s wheelchair could go
around the kitchen table, go around the snack bar, go into the family
room,” Deborah Legg said. “It was designed where she could be with
us in every room.”
The master suite had two bedrooms separated by a sliding door. A specialized
bathroom featured a large roll-in shower with mounted and handheld shower
heads, plus a customized toilet area. A lift mechanism was planned for
Michele’s bedroom to help move her.
Michele had Rett syndrome, a nervous system disorder that struck before she
was 2 years old. She couldn’t walk or talk, and required constant care.
